Meet the Artists & Fundraiser

Celebrate the culmination of the 2026 residency with the unveiling of new sculptures, the announcement of their titles and reflections from the artists. The event concludes with a one-of-a-kind Truck Horn Symphony inspired by the sounds and landscape of the Blackfoot Valley.

MJ Williams will debut her original music composition entitled "Geological Lincoln (Nobodies Fault), a musical exploration which imagines the local geology. With support from The Blackfoot Pathway's Composer in Residence program, a nine piece ensemble will perform the twenty minute sonic adventure in the Methodist church in Lincoln. The nonet consists of vocalists Kerry Krebill, Lorna McMurray, Donna Aline and Anne Kania from Helena. The instrumentalists are Ann Tappan, piano (Bozeman), Maria Falbo, baritone saxophone (Butte), David Horgan, guitars, Beth Lo, bass, both from Missoula and MJ Williams of Basin.

Join us and watch art take shape. Over three weeks, see our Artists in Residence create site-specific sculptures and hear our Composer in Residence transform the materials, sounds and stories of the Blackfoot Valley into an original composition for our 35-acre woodland park.


Justin Tyler Tate

For more than two decades, Justin’s international installations span sculpture, installation, media, performance, and socially engaged art. Justin transforms familiar structures into participatory environments that explore survival, adaptation, and relationships between human and non-human life.


Jessie Blumenthal

Montana-based sculptor and educator, Jesse creates award-winning work held in the Yellowstone Art Museum’s permanent collection and installed at public sites across the region. During his residency, he invites us into a Sonic Ecosystem where sound, material, and weather reveal new ways of experiencing place.


MJ Williams

Montana native MJ Williams is a nationally recognized Jazz Hero whose decades-long career as a vocalist, trombonist, and composer spans stages from Paris to New York. As Composer-in-Residence, she brings a lifetime of jazz, improvisation, and creative collaboration to the making of new music.
